While enrolled in the nursing program at North Dakota State University you will receive a well-rounded education that prepares you for career opportunities in a variety of clinical practice settings, as well as an excellent foundation for graduate study in nursing. A degree from NDSU also will give you exposure to ideas and values that are the hallmark of the major and of the NDSU general education curriculum.

Nationally, professional nurses are in high demand.  Nursing has opportunities for individuals with many different talents and abilities in a variety of settings. With a baccalaureate nursing degree, you may choose to work in an acute-care hospital (oncology, medical, surgical, pediatrics, maternal-newborn, critical care, psychiatric, operating room), a long term care facility, public health agencies, and community settings such as schools, clinics and parishes.

Graduate study offers the opportunity for enhancing one's skill in nursing and increasing one's career opportunities. Specialty areas include family nurse practitioner and nurse educator.
